Need a plan quick!
When there is too much work to be done there is a way to organize the chaos
I am a firm believer in having a plan before diving into tasks, akin to following a recipe while cooking. If you fail to familiarize yourself with the steps and prepare the ingredients, you're bound to end up with a disastrous outcome.
It's crucial to apply this concept to everything you do, especially when it comes to coding. I believe that having a well-thought-out plan for what you intend to code is essential. Breaking down big problems into smaller, manageable pieces is a strategy you've likely heard of. This approach prevents you from feeling overwhelmed by the magnitude of the task and provides a better understanding of the estimated time required to complete it.
Here is a problem I am facing as a front-end software engineer
I want to improve my portfolio to prepare it for job applications, but I am facing numerous obstacles regarding design choices, what content to include on the website and overall branding.
My current plan is to dedicate time to outline the necessary steps. Here's how I'm breaking it down:
- I will spend one or two days planning the overall design of the page, including creating a Figma design to establish the page's look and feel.
- Following that, I'll allocate another week to develop the page.
This will involve dedicating one day to working on the landing page, another on the About page, and so forth. and start working my butt off to finish what is a priority right now.
